Well week 24 is nearly over and the 3rd trimester is officially upon us! We're beginning the last leg of the race and things are going great! So much is going on and so many new and exciting things are happening everyday. The biggest news to report is that we now have visual confirmation and are proud to announce that we are indeed having a baby boy! Hooray! I know my parents wanted to stay in the dark, but I'm pretty sure that after Easter they have a pretty good idea anyways. My family has a really hard time keeping secrets, especially when they're big! That being said, if they didn't know, well then they know now, sorry guys, this is all way too exciting to be kept secret any longer.
In case you haven't noticed there are some very up close and personal pictures of the little guy on the left. We recently went to 1 of 2 3D Ultrasounds recently to catch a glimpse of life in the womb. This by far had to be the most amazing (and shortest) 20 minutes of my life. The very first thing we saw him do was smile and wink at us! Aww, hey little guy, I see you! I thought the regular ultrasound was crazy, but actually seeing a 3D baby, facial features and all in real time was truly remarkable. If anything, it makes me want him to show up even more. Simply breathtaking!
The little guy has an ever growing set of legs on him too! More and more we begin to feel stronger and stronger pokes and prods from inside. I was sure that I've felt him before, but was hesitant. Any one of the little kicks from within could have merely been hand twitches while I faded into slumber. I feel for kicks when I'm lying next to Momma. Then just the other night, a most distinctive thump from within. So much so I awoke from my slumber with a bit of a jolt! Finally, there's the definitive kick I've been waiting for! Good job boy!
Now that we know for sure that we're having a boy we've had more time to focus on a name. We've come up with other things, like baby "themes", and clothing options. We like Classic Pooh, in case you're wondering what that perfect little gift might be, wink, wink. The name thing seems to be an issue. It's a lot harder than it seems, to come up with a name for someone. Hell, the only things I've named have been pets. Sure, I'd call him Gunner, or Laser or something, but I'm pretty sure Momma wouldn't be to happy with that! However I do think that we've come up with the perfect name already, but I'm going to share that with you next time. Don't worry you won't have to wait long, it's just around the corner!
