Waiting For Worlds To Collide

Holy smokes, you'd think a guy as obsessed with his unborn child as myself would have the time to sit down and write about him every once in a while! Yeesh! It has definitely been awhile, and I apologize, again, a million times, however those of you who have been keeping track know very well (as some of you have been here before) this is the most hectic part of pregnancy. Complain all you want about the rainy weather lately, but on this end, cool temperatures in a usually sweltering summer, are a blessing in disguise. If she's happy then I'm happy! So, that said, let's get down to business.

If you've been lucky enough to see us over the past few weeks, you would have probably have noticed Momma is somewhat bigger than what you would expect for the end of week 36. To the dismay of some, we are not having twins! Four ultrasounds have been performed, and each one confirms there is only one little guy in there, not two, three, or god forbid more, there is just one! I'm happy with that, not only for the fear of going grey by thirty, but I'd hate to leave for work every morning, knowing Momma is at home with two or more poop factories. One is enough. Myself not included, of course!

With one little guy on the way, he is on schedule according to a fetal assessment taken a couple weeks ago. Although the results given by the hospital didn't really give the doctor much to work with, in her opinion, we should probably be shooting for closer to the end of July. I'm sure if you've seen Momma recently, you'd agree! Momma had an appointment with her doctor this morning, and she has reported back that Blueberry should be somewhere around seven pounds by now, and that Momma is only dilated by about a half centimetre, so he probably won't be showing up for awhile yet. On the plus side, after tomorrow, we've cleared the final development stages and are good to go whenever he is. In Momma's case, the sooner the better!

In my case, it doesn't matter, he'll show up when he's good and ready, and I'm okay with that. If he wants to come sooner, he will. If he takes after his Dad, he may very well be late. For Mommas sake lets hope he doesn't. If he's seven pounds now, and he does come when we first guessed, he's gonna be a big boy! Either way, I have to sit and wait. Which is fine, but it will be so much nicer when he can actually grab my fingers, instead of just pushing back. So close yet so far away. Waiting for world's to collide!
